Supplements. Why? How? We have already shown that the food presents technical limits and that the caloric intakes of each person should be increased, sometimes doubled, to reach the contributions recommended, which is far from being advisable.

These observations, carried out in the past on iodine for the population as a whole, on the vitamin D for the children and on iron for the pregnant women, carried out to the supplementations practiced now since many years.

The simple fact being a woman is associated - before the menopause - with increased need for iron; to be a man it is necessary to have increased level of zinc. However, we have already evoked, these lacks of contribution from mineral salt has consequences on the figure, the health and the incidence of diseases, like bony demineralization for the vitamin K, the vulnerability with the infections for zinc, the hyper-reactivity to stress and the increase in the frequency of cardiovascular pathologies for magnesium.

It is thus important to supplement by adapting new food habits and life hygiene by a supplementation more complete than the already desired supplementation.

The latter must compatible, synergistic and be adapted :

The needs for the sportsman in competition are not the same ones as the sportsman on holiday. The student preparing an examination does not have the same needs as the student in period for re-entry.

In addition, a great part of the French already appears to undergo signs and symptoms: lower physical energy, psychic tonicity, capacity of concentration, faculties of memorizing, adaptation to the stress, anti-infectious defenses, vitality of the skin and superficial body growths which are indicators showing the alarm when there is a deficiency in micronutrients.
