Wild fish of the cold seas oils
The vitamins are, by definition, the substances which your organism cannot create and which it is thus necessary to take from food (and complements, if necessary), the essential fatty acids come, also, from your mode.
Unfortunately, it is not always the case. The essential fatty acids are precisely what is missing in the majority of the modes.
The essential fatty acids belong to two fundamental categories : the omega 3 and omega 6 groups. If you are able to take enough and to balance them, they will play an essential part in your health.
Your organism needs to manufacture twenty different fatty acids from two essential fatty acids: omega 3, also known under the name of linoleic acid, and omega 6, also known under the name of linoleic acid.
The family of the fatty acids omega 3 is subdivided in three groups: alpha-linoleic acid (LNA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). In general the fatty acids of the omega 3 family are in the leaves and cereals of many plants, in the egg yolk, and fish of cold sea, salmon, herring, tuna, cod, mackerel. There is LNA in hazel nuts, bean sprouts, canola oil and it linseed oil; some EPA and DHA in the fish oil.
IIn the same way, the fatty acids of the omega 6 family are subdivided in three groups : the gamma-linoleic acid (GLA), the arachidonic acid, and the dihomo-linoleic acid. From the three, only the GLA and, in a smaller part, the arachidonic acid, are really worth speaking about.
There are small quantities of GLA in vegetables with dark green leaves, in the egg yolk, and all the cereals. We can find some abundantly in plants like the borage, bilberries, and even the primulas which are not part of the ordinary menus.
The third group of fatty acids, from the omega 9 family, is not essential but it is very useful. You heard of it as being mono-unsaturated fats. You probably know that the most important source of the fatty acids omega 9 is in the olive oil, the oleic acid. There is also some in sesame, nut, hazel nut, groundnut oils. Avocado and avocado oil constitute also excellent sources of mono-unsaturated fats.

Que se passe-t-il quand on comble les déficits en Oméga 3 ?
Après les études épidémiologiques, les essais cliniques randomisés sont la
deuxième étape pour valider la théorie sur les oméga-3.
Ces essais comparent un régime expérimental avec un régime témoin,
la répartition des participants dans les différents groupes se faisant par tirage au sort, comme pour les médicaments.
Mieux que des médicaments
Actuellement, aucun médicament utilisé en cardiologie, y compris ceux prescrits pour
faire baisser le cholestérol, ne présente de profil scientifique aussi solide que celui des acides gras oméga-3.
